Due Date: October 26, 2013. At the most I have 3 more weeks of being preggo; where has the time gone?!
Gender: Baby Boy and he is officially full term
How Big is Baby this week: Baby is the size of a winter melon and is pretty much done growing in length. He continues to gain weight and likely weighs around 6.2-9.2 lbs. I have my last ultrasound on Wednesday and we should get a better estimate on how big he is at that appointment, as well as how he is positioned in there.
Movement: Lots and lots of movement! Luckily, I am able to sleep a lot better at night since he gives me somewhat of a break by sharing similar sleep/awake schedules as me. His most active time it seems like is ALL THE TIME, but I’m not complaining; I love to feel him move and even when some of his jabs can be slightly painful, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Feeling: Things are so incredibly real; in t-minus 3 weeks (or less) we will have a little mini-Paul/Michelle in our arms. At my appointment on Friday, my MD informed me that I’m not even slightly dilated, but that typically that changes from the 37-38 week mark. I have been having some contractions, but none of them have been painful and are usually a result of me picking stuff up off the ground. I can apparently expect more contractions this week as my body prepares to deliver our little guy.
We have our last ultrasound on Wednesday where they will check his position in the womb and get an estimate on how big he is . I can’t wait to see how big he has gotten because lord knows that I have gotten bigger over the last few weeks! My belly button is just barely in and every time Paul looks at me he just says “You a fully pregnant.” Well, duh!
Food Cravings: I’ll be honest, I’m not so much craving anything anymore as I am just trying to eat foods that are high in fiber because constipation has been a bit rough over the last week. Last nights dinner was one of my mega salads and I’m thinking that lots of fruits and vegetables will be on the menu over the next couple weeks so I can try and stay regular. TMI, I know, but if I have to deal with it then you have to deal with hearing about it.
Food Aversions: None.
Clothes: Still a mix of maternity and regular clothing with only maternity leggings and maxi dresses and skirts.
Stretch Marks: No sign of them, it’s a miracle! I’m still using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter twice daily and moisturizing additional times throughout the day to help with dry skin and itching.
Sleep: Sleep has actually been decent. I wake up 3-4 times a night to pee, but I always go right back to sleep. We think Zoë has figured out that I’m going to deliver soon because at night she has been sleeping on my side of the bed and following me to the bathroom. Apparently she is smarter than we give her credit for.
Symptoms: Growing belly, some swelling in my hands, decrease in appetite since my stomach is pretty much smashed into my ribs, lots of kicks and movement including jabs and rolls into my side, decreased energy level, constipation and nerves and excitement as my due date nears!
What I Miss : Nothing! We can’t wait to meet our son!
Best Moment: We bought the rocking recliner on Friday for the nursery and now it is almost 100% done. I have been sitting in there every morning and just hanging out in the recliner, taking everything in. We also installed the car seat base in my car and it is crazy to think that it is going to be used in just a few short weeks! Bags are almost done being packed for the hospital and each day is a day we get closer to meeting our little guy
