Due Date: Either tomorrow, October 18th or October 19th. All depends on how stubborn our little guy is to leave his home that he has been in for the last 9 months to finally meet his mommy and daddy!
Gender: Baby Boy! I can’t wait to see his sweet little face in person instead of through ultrasound pictures.
How Big is Baby this week: Baby is the size of a watermelon; and mommy feels like she is carrying a watermelon around all the time. Go figure.
Movement: I can already tell that our baby boy is just like his father; he can’t sit still. All day he loves to squirm around and wiggle in there, even though I’m sure his living quarters are pretty tight. Being married to Paul these past 2 years has given me a taste of what I have in store from our little boy.
Feeling: I’m ready to be a mommy! I’m so overjoyed to be having our little bean welcomed into the world that I wish tomorrow would hurry up and get here. I’m not even nervous for labor and delivery anymore; I realize that the only thing that I can do is just go with the flow. I trust my MD and know that he will do what is best to get our little one safely into this world; I feel very blessed to have such an amazing medical team and support from all my family and friends.
Food Cravings: I haven’t had too many food cravings; I just love being able to nosh on grapes and bananas right now because of my fruit addiction.
Food Aversions: None.
Clothes: I’m pretty sure that throughout my entire pregnancy my maternity wardrobe cost less than $250; and a great deal of that was in part to my MIL who took me shopping early on. Although I’m pretty much living in my maxi skirt everyday, I’m past the point of caring because I’m comfortable, and I figure that is all that matters.
Stretch Marks: No sign of them, it’s a miracle! I’m guessing stretch marks didn’t make an appearance during my pregnancy because of a growth spurt I went through in middle school that had already produced some stretch marks on my lower abdomen, so my skin was probably a lot more elastic than I thought. Who would’ve thought that I would have been grateful for old stretch marks?!
Sleep: Sleep is about the same; wake up 3-4 times a night to pee or be woken up by my little guy’s movements. I figure that it is all well and good since I will be waking up multiple times at night for feedings and changings. I’m pretty sure Zoë is well in-tune with what is about to happen to her little family because she has been following me into the bathroom every night this week and just staring at me as if to say “You OK mom?”
Symptoms: Contractions, lots of movement, dilation, frequent urination, and an eagerness to deliver so I can finally meet my little boy!
What I Miss : Nothing! We can’t wait to meet our son!
Best Moment: Knowing that I get to hold my baby boy by the end of the week
